COVID-19 Emergency Fund For Students – Newcastle University

Supporting Newcastle Students Affected by COVID-19

These are unprecedented times, for Newcastle and for the world. Our clear priority is our students and keeping them safe and healthy. We recognise that students have had their study plans abruptly disturbed, but we will not let this disrupt or derail their future.

To support our students, we have established an emergency assistance fund to provide immediate financial aid to vulnerable and disadvantaged students who are most affected by the impact of COVID-19, providing bursaries of up to £400 each. The fund will provide support for travel expenses, basic living costs such as food and medication, and other financial challenges experienced due to COVID-19.

We are all deeply worried about our loved ones during this COVID-19 emergency, but for those who wish to, it’s easy to support our students. You can donate to the emergency fund via the buttons above (our Dean of Advancement has already done so).

We have also opened the COVID-19 Research Fund that will support our world leading researchers as they use their forward-thinking and resilience to address the impact of the Coronavirus.

Thank you for supporting the Newcastle University community.
